Gmail settings crash Eudora - Eudora

I can add a data point: I have no problem at all retrieving mail from
GMail using Eudora 6.2.4, and have never had a problem for 3 2 years or
so that I have done so, using the latest Eudora and MacOS X versions on
both G4 and Intel machines. So, it CAN work.

Given that you've not provided much details, the list of possible paths
to success is not restricted by knowing (for example) the OS version,
Eudora version, and presence of things like "security " tools that claim
to protect you from bad mail (generally doing more harm than good on a
Mac) or APE or handbuilt EMSAPI extensions from 1998...

I am using 10.4.9 on a PPC G5 iMac - no "security tools"

Eudora version?

In any case, the absence of dangerous things like "anti-virus" and
"personal firewall" scamware hijacking Eudora's connections or temporary
files eliminates them as possible causes. The next most likely cause of
your problem is a corrupted Eudora Settings file, and the only solid fix
for that is to trash the file and rebuild your settings from scratch.

Other possibilities for a root cause generally fall into the area of
filesystem damage, which is not impossible but is not likely to cause
just one narrow problem. A check with Apple's Disk Utility couldn't hurt
and has some chance of finding the root cause, but I wouldn't put a lot
of hope in that as a fix.
