Cannot alway view embedded pictures

  1. Default Cannot alway view embedded pictures

    Hi anyone,
I have Eudora Vs 7.1.0.9 in paid mode. Often times I cannot view
embedded pictures sent to me. There is just a box with a red x in the
upper left corner. Some times the next day or so they will view.
If I take the E-mail that I cannot view the embedded picture and
select to forward it, the picture will appear.
This happens often but not all the time.
    Anyone have any ideas.
    Thank you
    Gene

When Internet Explorer is set. to hide images it will show the place
holder with the red X in the upper left corner, and that is what you get
when you have set Eudora to use the MS viewer in Tools > Options >
    Viewing Mail.

When you are composing mail in Eudora, or when you reply or forward, you
    are using the internal viewer.

Ergo, the solution is to use the internal viewer, or to change your
    options in Internet Explorer.

Internet Explorer is not displaying the graphic images
(which may be either embedded or linked)

Here is Katrina's ultimate, complete ****ysis of all possibilities
    http://groups.google.com/group/comp....cb0d503af7911a

"Internal viewer" (vs. Internet Explorer) means:

"Tools" > "Options" > "Viewing Mail"
    [?] Use Microsoft's viewer

    In the IE6 "Internet Options"
(which is also a Windows "Control panel")
    the "Advanced" tab (under "Multimedia")
    contains the two relevant "Show" options;
    YMMV with IE7

I have this problem at home but not at the office running the same versions
(latest Eudora and IE7). Seems to be something when Eudora places embedded
graphics in the embedded folder but doesn't add the file extension - without
that nothing will open that file automatically. I can open them with
graphics viewers. But when forwarded they seem to be displayed. Haven't
taken the time to do a clean install which would probably fix it.
