A Request for Froggie

This is a discussion on A Request for Froggie within the Eudora forums in Other Technologies category; Sir, The Comcast Monopolists have done a dirty on me, reconfiguring my SMTP setup, which has forced me to abandon 5.2 and upgrade to 7.1--but since that turned out to be free, my bitterness at them is molified, but only slightly. When I posted an inquiry about getting rid of the ad window, a very helpful gentleman who frequents this neighborhood suggested that you might be willing to generate a registration number for me. I would be most grateful if you could. -- -------------------------------------------- Dick Baker (contact via http://goon.org/newcontact.php )...

Default A Request for Froggie

Sir,

The Comcast Monopolists have done a dirty on me, reconfiguring my SMTP
setup, which has forced me to abandon 5.2 and upgrade to 7.1--but since
that turned out to be free, my bitterness at them is molified, but only
slightly.

When I posted an inquiry about getting rid of the ad window, a very helpful
gentleman who frequents this neighborhood suggested that you might be
willing to generate a registration number for me.

I would be most grateful if you could.

Mr. Hoseman has replied accordingly. If for some reason you may not like
his code <g>, feel free to use the one below... I'm sure they both work

FirstName: Dick
LastName: Baker
Registration: 3349459983332939

Have a nice day!

Is there a program available that generates those codes?

Froggie appears to be using the keygen(erator) released by CORE
(Challenge of Reverse Engineering). I do not know which Pantyhoseman
is using.

They're called "keygens," found on "serials/warez" sites,
some of which (and downloads from which) may bear malware payloads
(even a visit to some sites may set off "Downloader Trojan" alarms).

"Test first on an inconspicuous [and never-used] computer"

[you won't even know if it gets "taken over," however,
or if it thereafter reports everything you type to someone,
if you let it connect to the internet,
because AV products don't catalog these things,
which don't spread themselves, but are voluntarily downloaded]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keygen [poorly written article]
http://www.google.com/search?q=keygens

Eudora transmits no info to Qualcomm for any obnoxious tracking
or "multiple use" restriction, so you can use any name+code at all;
no one will ever see it but you, and even then
only if you invoke "Help" | "About Eudora" (or "Pay & Reg")

University and other "site licenses" can also easily be found.
