Just found out that emoticons doesn't work if recieved with OE (?)

You're probably not sending them as images. You can do that with the
following setting:

<X-Eudora-Option:SendEmoticonsAsImages=1>

Paste that line in a new message in Eudora, hit enter once, then
alt-click the link. Click OK in the Change Option window that appears.
