Eudora has become very slow logging on to the pop server, but
otherwise works fine. I tried Mozilla Thunderbird as a comparison and
it zips in and downloads the mail almost instantly.
Is this a fair comparison with Eudora which is loaded with lots of
previous messages and Thunderbird the opposite or is there a trick or
tweek to smarten Eudora V7.1.0.9 up somewhat.
Should the remedy be obvious and simple please consider advancing
years as my excuse.
Thanks.

First mail check only, or also on subsequent repeated mail checks,
with Eudora left runnning?
Always been this way, or started after SSL was introduced?
Do you know your CPU type and speed?
(typing one "Break" while holding "Windows key"
displays all about CPU in lower right of "General" tab
on Windows XP, hopefully Vista too).

Nope...still the same. So esoteric? Rethink that one :-)
