Forth game "SKAMPY" : Forth

This is a discussion on Forth game "SKAMPY" within the Forth forums in Programming Languages category; Here's Jason Damisch's SKAMPY, which I'm hosting on my webspace for him. I was surprised to learn after playing it that it was written in 2000. It's always an interesting exception when someone makes a game solely on a severely outdated platform. I've asked Jason if he will release the source code for others that are interested in game-writing. I'm sure he'll appreciate any comments. To run it you need an Atari ST or an emulator. On ...

Default Forth game "SKAMPY"

him. I was surprised to learn after playing it that it was written in

To run it you need an Atari ST or an emulator. On Windows, I
reccommend STeem. (http://tamw.atari-users.net/steem.htm)

I'll see if I can find the source. It may be somewhere around here.

If you want to edit level files you will probably need some
instructions, including which ascii characters correspond to which
game tile in the level text files.

Thanks for hosting this.

Thanks for that.

Simple arcade games are always popular and serve nicely as demos.
Perhaps there are more unknown forth games lurking out there?

Here's another classic game ported from XPL0 to Forth. Requires
MS-DOS, VGA and mouse. Should work on Windows up to XP.
