program. I previously had 5SE but opted to go with trueSpace. Anyway after

Can anyone point me in the direction of the main C4D forums. I always

Hi Nigel,
here is the link to an other 'Forum'
http://www.postforum.com/forums/list.php?f=6
And if you want to improve your German language ;-) then you can have a
look at this excellent German Forum:

CU and have fun with Cinema 4D ;-)

Thanks Harry Bee
Ha, my German is lousy!! I'm mighty impressed so far. I'm really pleased
with the way C4D does booleans. I missed being able to animate booleans
like in my old app Bryce 4. Currently running trueSpace 6.6 but I'm very
keen to see what I can do in C4D.
Cheers
Nigel

Hi Nigel, I thought you were experienced with Cinema 4D? If not, I'm sure
you'll get the hang of it quick and put out some excellent work as always!

Hi Nigel,
I've also started using 6CE. I still use 5.21SE commercially.
Can you check something for me?
I find 5SE has faster rendering!!!
I run both programs on the same dual processor system. (I think 6CE would be
even slower otherwise)
Do you get the same render speeds?
regards pk

Hi Guys
I did do a brief evaluation of 5SE before going with trueSpace. Sub
division surfaces etc. Havn't got it installed.
6CE looks like it will do most of the stuff I want although 8.5 looks
superb!!
Maybe one of the more expreienced users can answer this one. One thing I
know, it's miles quicker than trueSpace at rendering. I've just finished
rendering 1800 frames at 640x480 on Athlon 2400 1.5 gig memory. Wait for
it... 120 hours. System was having to use virtual memory.
Happy rendering.

Hi Nigel,
the same with my English ;-)
Ok, to animate boolean is very simple in XL6/7/R8.
You have an own object, the Boolean-Object, in Cinema 6/7/8.
- Put your both objects (Object A and Object B) that you want to boole
down under this boolean object.
- Select the boolean kind (double click on the boolean object in the
object manager)
- Now you can animate (e.g via Key animation or via PLA etc.) object A
and/or object B.
All new possitions, size etc. of A and B will be calculated picture for
There is an excellent German (sorry) Tutorial from Cinemike that shows how
boolean works.

Perhaps the translated verion via Babelfish could hepls you a little bit

CU and have a nice day ;-)
