Brush questions
Hello every body, I am a new user of GIMP, moving from CorelPP.
1. How can I resize big brushes, those with the + sign are too big for
my needs. The brush editor is greyed out for the artistic brushes.
2. In CorelPP I was able to chose one component of a pipe brush and use
it without alternating between all the components of the pipe, how can
I do this in GIMP.
Many thanks

In the brushes menu click on the brush to be changed. At the bottom of the
dialog click on the folder icon to open brush as image. Alter the brush to
do whatever you want it to do/look like. Save
as 'something-you-like-to-call-it.gbr' Change the name so as not to wipe
out the original brush.

Re: Brush questions
Thanks
Unfortunately this did not work, all I have is 'New brush', 'Edit
brush' and 'delete brush'. Opening the brush editor does not help as it
is greyed out.
There is no option to save the brush or do any manipulation.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks a lot

The brushes are image files, so you can load them in GIMP and then edit
them. The directory where they are stored is provided in the
preferences, just in case you didn't find it already. You may want to
duplicate the brushes first, this will put them into your personal
brushes directory and (usually) make them writable for the logged-in
user.
BTW, all brushes can be resized from within GIMP, the problem is just
that it only happens if you map the pressure of e.g. a tablet stylus to
the brush size. If anyone wants to contribute to GIMP and add this,
finding a way to implement a 'pressure bias' and come up with a useful
UI for it could be a possible solution.
