created the same problem: the layer I was on got the left-angled arrow
pointing to the next layer down, whose name was now underlined. On ...

I was trying to select the paint can & hit CTL+G instead of SHIFT+G &
created the same problem: the layer I was on got the left-angled arrow
pointing to the next layer down, whose name was now underlined. On the
history pallete, the step "Group with previous" appeared. Still not
sure how to eliminate it, though.

YESSS! Thank you kind sir.
Boy if there's anything I hate with Pshop (or any computer program)
it's hitting a key by mistake and making something happen that I have
no idea how to undo.
