Struggling with logo design
Hi All,
I am trying to create a website for a friend of mine who is setting
upon a musical adventure.
I am having a problem creating some interesting text to head his site
with. My work in progress is sitting here
http://www.wellcottage.dsl.pipex.com/ until I have the domain name
forwarded.
The site should eventually have a flash intro of the main image
morphing from photo to the current effect and the moving to side of
screen for the rest of the site to build around it. A index/title
will hold the top of the page while there will be a windowed section
on the right for the different pages selected from the top menu.
Along the bottom will hopefully be a 4 track mp3/wma jukebox, when I
eventually figure out Flash enough to enable me to do it.
I am using dreamweaver MX 2004 and Photoshop to do most of the work,
but would really like some suggestion as to how to get some more
creative text headings.
anything you could suggest would be gratefully recieved!

I like your first page. OTOH, that's the only one I could see. Were there
more?
Looking at websites, I notice that often there's a Flash intro, which one
can click to bypass - not everybody is on broadband, so you might want to
consider a button to 'skip Flash intro', as many sites do.
What about some Javascript to liven your site up? It's not as heavy on
resources for us poor dial-ups as Flash is.
I'm not sure what you want regarding creative text, but you can do stuff
like this:

You can use Java or JavaScript, and even things like animated .gifs to make
your website look interesting.
Here is another one, with Java

OK, I know they're not terrific, but if you're creative, you can use Java
and JavaScript as well as Flash.
Good luck with your website.

Re: Struggling with logo design
Hey!
What exactly is it you're looking for? Is there a specific style or
something you would like? I'll try out some stuff but if you could give me a
little direction it might work better. You want text styles/fonts or things
to say with the text, I'm not sure what you mean by "interesting text to
head his site", if you could explain a little more I might be of some help

Re: Struggling with logo design
Thanks for your help, I agree with the Javascript solution. I
recently managed to update it a bit using a program called SwishMax.
I am a bit green to start delving into Javascript yet.
The page that is up at the moment is only there as a holding page
until I can get the rest of the site ready.
I am trying to figure out now how to play a .wma or .mp3 through a
simple player with play, stop and skip buttons.
cheers,
Kev
