Corel Draw X3 Can't Output

Thanks. I never knew how to do that.
Anyway, it apparently resets the defaults.
However,
1. New (blank page).
2. Put a square on it.
3. Save - CARM again.

So makes no difference, but one more thing eliminated.

I have also tried Photo-Paint and the same thing happens, so it looks
like a common dll may be missing.

Paint Shop Pro (also Corel, formerly Jasc) works. fine.

I have uninstalled Photo-Paint and Corel Capture, but I couldn't find
any place in the setup to get rid of CARM. It's not under Corel Draw
or Utilities, or anywhere else.

sounds like something else is hosed in your OS otherwise we'd all be able to
duplicate that issue. you might also ask on the "real" Corel newsgroups -
point your newsreader over to cnews.corel.com.

Sorry 'bout that, then. It must be an installation-time-only thing, as I
definitely turned off the "install CARM" check-box when I upgraded from CD12
to X3.

At this point, you're not getting anything done with X3, so you might as well
take the hit, do a complete uninstall, and start over again. Look for the CARM
enabling toggle during the installation, and unless you feel lucky ;-) turn if
off...

Nope, not low traffic, really. And except for two newsgroups that I visit
(the ones for Project Seven and Cartweaver), pretty much no one from any
software company visits the newsgroups. They're all user-to-user support
forums. However, there are a lot of very knowledgeable people there at
cnews.corel.com.

And one or two people from Corel do drop in the NGs there now and then, but
for the most part it's people who use the apps every day that are helping
out.

Personally, I hate web forums - difficult to wade through a lot of crap.
Granted, a lot of people seem to like them. I just find more useful info
faster in NNTP newsgroups.

Hi Hugh,

It doesn't get that far. It goes to CARM immediately on clicking the
save button (or selecting save as from the file menu), before it asks
where to save it.

I'm currently asking on coreldraw.com forum for Corel Graphics Suite
X3 which seems more appropriate since both CorelDRAW and Photo-Paint
have the same problem.

I'm also asking Corel support, but so far they've only come back with
suggestions that I've already tried but didn't include in the original
email (since they are kind of basic).

I will post the answer if I ever get one that clearly has any
relevance. (It might get cured by accident, which is okay with me, and
I may not know exactly what cured it.)
