email problems since installing a linksys befsx41 router : Hardware

This is a discussion on email problems since installing a linksys befsx41 router within the Hardware forums in Theory and Concepts category; i vpn into the company lan thru cable modem. Everything works fine. I decide to get a router to share internet with other computers in my house. Now, email does not work. It says server not responding. I can still access company sites so i know vpn is working correctly. Also, when i vpn into lan, i need to log off (im running win2000). When i do this, and log back in, it just says loading personal settings and just hangs there. Can someone help me please... Grojohn...
