Help! with Boot-up
Hello
I have just built myself a new system using an ASUS P4S8X (533FSB) M/B
but when I try to power up the M/B starts beeping at me. It's a high
pitched beep followed by a lower pitched beep in an endless loop. What
does this mean? In the M/B manual it says such a beep may mean that no
DRAM is installed or detected. But I have replaced the RAM with
another one to see if that was the problem but the beeping continues.
When I turn on the computer the PSU and fan work, so does the
heat-sink fan and the green 'Power' light on the motherboard is
illuminated. But I can't boot-up at all, nothing is shown on the
screen, it just continues to beep.
Please help me!

Re: Help! with Boot-up
Remove all RAM and try it; you should get a beep code for no RAM. If it is the same beep code as you got before try changing the BIOS settings to more conservative values; higher CAS latency, slower bus speed etc.

Re: Help! with Boot-up
It sounds like you may be using RAM sticks whose brand or model number are
incompatible with that motherboard.
