Hello all:

MMC-1, Pentium 233mHz,
(1) 64MB sodimm,
1.4 gb HD,
Windows 98SE (came with it)
Dialup modem
CD-ROM
Would like to do this:
MMC-1, Pentium 400mHz,
(2) 256mb sodimms,
80 gb HDD
Windows 2000 Pro - new install
LAN card
CDRW
Docking station
Not sure if it can be done successfully without some issues,
I've only found information that the BIOS needs to be changed to,
TR4 & LCPI_A12 for the faster processor.
Any advise or wisdom would be appreciated:

Re: Dell Latitude CP, upgrading as much as possible
if it is a pentium II it has a fsb of 66 the 400 has a fsb of 100.
you maybe able to put a 333 with a 66 fsb.
if this is a project have fun but if your serious about upgrading
go to ebay and buy a used 400.

Re: Dell Latitude CP, upgrading as much as possible
Big Jim:
I've built several tower systems over the past 6 years.
(Custom hot rods with all the bells and whistles)
But I've never cracked open my laptop.
The difference between the performance of the towers and the laptop is mind
boggling.
Be it as it may ...
I believe the MMC-1 is a PII 400mHz.
I located one on eBay, they say it's new and rare, but who knows
Asking about $49.00 for it...
Memory is running between $10.00 and $25.00 a stick
HDD is another thing ... pricey little rascals.
Problem is, I'm wondering if the combination will work
