While I haven't seen every laptop ever made, I don't believe any laptop has
enough space to accommodate 2 hard drives internally.

Yeah, Dell sells a hard drive that replaces the DVD drive.

There are many laptops that can replace the optical drive with a second HD,
it's quite common actually and has been for quite a while. I've got a 10YO
IBM Thinkpad 760CD sitting around here someplace that had the ability to
have two internal HDs by swapping out the optical drive.

Additionally, there's a whole class of older (non Pentium-M) laptops defined
as "three spindle" that can have two HDs installed as well as an optical
drive or even another HD. I use an IBM Thinkpad A31p as my desktop
replacement, it's a P4-M 2GHz, 2GB RAM, two internal Hitachi 7K60 HDs and an
NEC multi-burner.
