| Hi all Anyone share some words of wisdom on the USB front please? Had to use recovery CD on Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 after mega virus infestation. Now the USB ports don't recognise memory sticks - tried a couple of different known good sticks to be sure. Strangely the USB mouse works no problem. Is this a USB 2 issue? Anyone know of a fix please - I googled and found something on USB enabling in the BIOS, but there is no entry for USB that I can see. Lappy is running WinXP. TIA Phil |

| The first thing I would check is whether the driver for the usb is loaded. You will be surprise that some recovery programs do ot included certain drivers. You can check that in Device Manager. My understanding is that the drivers are integral with WinXP - is that not the case? Phil |

However when you make "Restore" depending on a level of corruption - restore might require to reinstall some applications or divers. |
