| Hi, I have a quick question for someone regarding Sieve & Vacation. We have a customer that is interested in making it so that their out- of-office replies go out for every email, even if the sender had previously sent an email earlier that day and already received one. Not something I have ever really tried to do before, as nobody has ever asked me for such a thing. Is there a way I can go about this? I cant set days to anything lower than 1, I was looking for a solution like clearing the db of already replied addresses or not checking it to begin with. Thanks -Tim |

| You didn't mention which Sieve implementation, but if you're talking about Cyrus, you can't do what you want without modifying the source code. Not checking it is probably not a good idea. The idea of not sending an out of reply message for every message received from an address is to stop potential mail loops. Maybe someone will send you an email that purports to have come from you. Now watch your mail server eat up those CPU cycles and fill up the disk... Chris |

I tried to dissuade them for weeks, to no avail. So I ended up writing a simple auto-reply script for them to use, and now I will count the days until they beg me to go back to the old system. |
