howto refresh headers from mails on imap server in outlook 2007?

Hello,

We using the james imap server and at the backend we modify email
headers.
Is there any way to make outlook 2007 refresh/redownload the imap
headers of mails that are allready cached?
With any tool of c# code.

Of course not. Since IMAP does not allow modifications of contents of
existing messages, no IMAP client in existence is required to redownload
messages that it already downloaded, so, in cases of caching IMAP clients,
there would be absolutely no reason to have such a feature, just because you
have some mutant IMAP server that does this.

Why?

Modify the messages BEFORE you put them into a folder that a client will
access.

That'd defeat the purpose of caching.

Then there's the notoriously bad IMAP support in Outlook...
