iis storing messages until iis restart - URGENT
hi,
basically my windows 2003 server / iis6 is storing up emails created in
asp(cdonts) and not sending them until iis is restarted. this is a commerical
server so obviously is a huge problem. is there anyway to check why its doing
this or is this indeed a common problem? the server was previously 2k and has
been upgraded. experienced many problem since upgrade including having to
recreate the annonomous login user. can provide more symptons is required.
thanks for any help,
Michael

I appear to be having the same problem. Have you found a solution?

Re: iis storing messages until iis restart - URGENT
Hi Dave,
Semi found the solution, more of found several possibilities. Basically IIS
6/Win 2003, doesn't have CDONT as part of its system, its been replaced by
CDOSYS. All of my asp pages used CDONTs. Two solutions to this, copy the
cdont.dll file off a 2k server and register it, or convert all asp pages to
use CDOSYS. I opted for the first option, things worked better but still not
right. To register a component, use cmd to navigate to the dll location and
type "regsvr32 dllname.dll", you should get a message up saying successful.
Second solution was to play around with my application polls. By setting the
Recycle Worker progress to recycle twice a day for me 6am, 6pm, iis and the
specific site get a bit of a restart but not a full one.
These two fixes together seem to be keeping my sites running fine, quicker
than on my old 2k servers infact.
Hope this helps, good luck.
Michael
