| Hi, Can you please let me know where is inetinfo.exe file on Windows 2008 OS? This process is present on Windows 2003 machine. However, there is no process running on Windows 2008. Web Server (IIS) depends on WAS, apphostsvc and w3svc. Which is dedicated process for IIS running in Windows 2008 (similar to inetinfo, exe on Windows 2003) ? Thanks in advance, PSI |

All user request processing happens in w3wp.exe which belong to Application Pools. inetinfo.exe is only used to host the metabase, which is legacy configuration and is not installed by default. Thus, asking for inetinfo.exe and associating it as a requirement for IIS is not exactly right. What is your actual question? //David http://w3-4u.blogspot.com http://blogs.msdn.com/David.Wang // |

How do I do that? Is ther any registry key created or a file is copied or a service is running (similar to inetinfo on windows 2003)? Thanks for your feedback, Regards, PSI |
