Default Error Logging into Web Page from offsite

Hello,
We are running a Windows 2003 R2 Standard Server with SP 2. We have IIS
V6.0 installed and are running a webpage. We can access the webpage from the
server browser properly, but when I try from outside our network the webpage
askes for a username and password. No matter what I try for authentication
it gives me a:
HTTP 401.1 - Unauthorized: Logon Failed
Internet Information Services
What do I need to reset to make it work?
Thanks for any help you may offer.

Since it works from the server but not from outside the network, the
problem is not likely to be within IIS. The problem is likely
introduced by your particular network environment which prevents
authentication from working properly.

You have to decide whether you need authentication.
- If you do not need authentication, then turn it off in IIS and
enable Anonymous authentication.
- If you need authentication, then you have to figure out what is
broken in your network configuration and fix it
