| Hello, We are running a Windows 2003 R2 Standard Server with SP 2. We have IIS V6.0 installed and are running a webpage. We can access the webpage from the server browser properly, but when I try from outside our network the webpage askes for a username and password. No matter what I try for authentication it gives me a: HTTP 401.1 - Unauthorized: Logon Failed Internet Information Services What do I need to reset to make it work? Thanks for any help you may offer. Tom |

The problem is likely introduced by your particular network environment which prevents authentication from working properly. You have to decide whether you need authentication. - If you do not need authentication, then turn it off in IIS and enable Anonymous authentication. - If you need authentication, then you have to figure out what is broken in your network configuration and fix it //David http://w3-4u.blogspot.com http://blogs.msdn.com/David.Wang // |
