Generate Persistence Mapping - Not Ready For Prime Time

It appears to me that the Hiberate facet's ability to generate persistence mappings from an existing schema is not ready for prime time. I've been trying to use it to generate Hibernate .hbm.xml files for a schema consisting of 50-100 tables, going one table at a time. I've been getting Hibernate validation errors that won't go away, broken HQL, and some tables that simply lock up IntelliJ and force me to kill the process and start again. All these do is produce an empty .java source file and an .hbm.xml mapping with a childless root tag.

I'm six tables into the process and headed nowhere.

I'm running IntelliJ EA build 7330 on Windows XP Pro SP2.

You might want to try a more recent build, the one you're using is ancient! The most recent EAP build is 7531.

Hello Michael,

So, even importing the single table causes problems? Can you attach a problem
table(s) definition to let us reproduce the issue? This may be an extract
from dataSources.xml or DDL code. Of course, no table data is needed.

I don't believe that I can, because the schema belongs to my employer.

I have run into Hibernate validation problems where Hibernate would complain about invalid column types.

I'm using the older build a home; I just downloaded the latest build at work yesterday, but the result was the same.

One known issue of such kind is http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEADEV-18397.
