weird problem in Windows 2003 with the Sun JDK

  1. Default weird problem in Windows 2003 with the Sun JDK

I found a "weird" problem running windows 2003 Server. Maybe it's a know
problem but I just wanted to make sure everyone knows.

When running explorer to find the directories on my hard disk. It's very,
very fast with the exception of 1 folder. I know it's an accident
but it happens to be the JDK folder. I could reproduce this stupid behavior
on different boxes running 2003 server.

Does anyone knows that "virus" from Microsoft (definition of a virus, a
program that interfers with the normal behavior of the system).
How can I get that servers recognize the JDK as a normal folder. After all,
it's my right not to use C#, .Net. I want to use Java.

As long as this problem persists, who knows what other problem is present in
2003 that prevent Java to run correctly.

Windows 2003 searches inside of compressed files. The Java directory
contains all of the .JAR's that JAVA uses, and searches inside each one
    individually.

Thanks for the explanation but the Java_home directory does not contains
Jars, it contains one zip and a couple of directories.
Futhermore, I don't see the problem with other directories containing zip
files. Maybe you're right but 2003 in that case would need to search
for every sub directories whenever you enter a directectory, it's not
extremely efficient. Left if the file src.zip. I will try tomorrow to create
another directory with only this file and check what happening.

When did programmers aquire the right to program in any language they
wished? I don't remember reading that in any world government's
    constitution... [/random speculation]

Both ZIP and JAR are compressed files. And note that src.zip is quite large.
