I have not been able to test my 1520's or 1530 on MAX. When I test a device the graph bars or continuously curves but does not change. Although i have downloaded and installed the driver, I believe that my SCXI 1600 is not installed correctly beacuase MAX is unable to find it when I try to add a device. Any suggestions? Thanks

| What do you see when you open MAX? I don't have anything installed on my PC, but here are the devices I see in MAX. Usually, after installing the drivers for a given device, MAX will see it. | Hello, It would be very useful to if I could see what you see when you open MAX. Also, could you please verify what version of NI-DAQmx driver you are using, and what operating system your machine is running. Regarding the SCXI-1600, the DAQmx readme has this device listed under the "Devices not supported in NI-DAQmx on Windows Vista" category. So if you are using the Windows Vista OS, this likely explains the problem with the SCXI-1600. The DAQmx readme file is linked below for your convenience. Regarding your 1520s and 1530; what happens when you test the SCXI chassis in MAX? Does MAX verify all of these modules? Also, what types of signals are you trying to acquire using the test panels in MAX? I know that I've posted more questions than answers, but we need to see things through your eyes in order to determine what's wrong. NI-DAQmx Readme: http://ftp.ni.com/support/softlib/multifunction_daq/nidaqmx/8.7/readme.html Best wishes, Wallace F. |

The NI-DAQmx driver I am using is version 8.7.1 and I am using LabVIEW 8.5 and NI-Measurement & Automation Explorer 4.4.1 on Windows-XP. MAX is able to "Auto-Detect" my modules in the chasis configuration but the 1600 is shaded over. When I test the Module or run a task in Data Neighborhood the graph does not read the movements of the accelerometer. When I tried using an example in labview i got error 200077. Thank you Jake lv.JPG: http://forums.ni.com/attachments/ni/170/337224/1/lv.JPG

Hi Jake, From the jpeg of your MAX configuration tree, it appears that the SCXI-1600 is recognized and installed fine. The error you are getting, -200077, is the error that occurs when the user has requested a measurement that is not supported by the device from which the measurement is taken. Can you please be more specific about the tasks that are giving you these errors? What modules and channels are you using for these tasks? What minimum and maximum values are selected for the tasks? Best wishes, Wallace F.

Hello Wallace, I have been trying to get readings from my accelerometer by doing trial and error with examples in LabView for accelerometers. The graph for "SVXMPL Baseband FFT (DAQmx).vi "does react to my accelerometer. Unfortunately these are not the readings I am looking for. I want to record acceleration versus time which the example "Cont Acq Samples-Int CLK-Analog Start-SCXI 153X.vi" seems to be appropriate. However, this example is giving me error 200077. For max and min i am putting +-10 and going with the defaults for all other settings. I feel that the problem may lie in the fact that the accelerometer I am using has an output in pC/g and the sensitivity units in the example are in mV/g. What do you think about this? Is there a way around it? If I have an accelerometer with sensitivity units in mV/g should I be able to get readings in this example? I have my 1600 in slot one and 1530 in slot two with the accelerometer in the first channel "ai0" Thank you Jake

Hi Wallace, I have made some progress in the sense that I got example "Cont Acq accel Samples-Int Clk-Analog Start-SCXI 153x.vi" to run my accelerometer by removing triggering. I am still running into the problem that the graph is still reading in mv/g and not pC/g. Also, is there a way to filter out noise? Thanks Jake

Hello Jake, I simulated your SCXI chassis and the 1530 module in MAX, and then I ran the "Cont Acq Samples-Int CLK-Analog Start-SCXI 153X.vi" example with the default parameters and got thrown error -200077 because of the start trigger type. I'm posting the text of the message below in hopes that you will post the exact text of the error message you are getting so that I can narrow down what the actual cause of your error is. Possible reason(s): Measurements: Requested value is not a supported value for this property. Property: Start.TrigTypeYou Have Requested: Analog EdgeYou Can Select: Digital Edge, None Task Name: _unnamedTask<3> Please post the text of the error message you are getting so that I have an idea which property the error occurs at. Best wishes, Wallace F.
