| I am using a multicolumn listbox in Labview 8.5 and trying to get the index of the selected row in a scalar format. I have the selection mode set to 1 Item and the data type set to scalar. I have checked multiple times that the data type is set to scalar, but when I try to create an indicator from the Value property node, it gives my an array equal to the original multicolumn listbox. I restarted labview a couple times and somehow got it to work once. I don't know what I did to make it work and can't seem to get it to work again in a different VI since then. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong here or if there is any known bug with this? I really just need to be able to get the index of the selected row, so I"m also open to any other way of doing it. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks |

| I don't see that problem in 8.5.1 What is your LabVIEW version? Can you attach a small VI that shows the problem? |

| Can you post an example? It sounds like instead of 1 Item, the selection mode is 1 or More. Even if you originally set it to 1 Item and Scalar, changing it to something like 1 or More will automatically change it to an array and changing it back to 1 Item will leave it as an array. |

| Here is the VI that I am trying to get working. If you right-click on the EventSequence multicolumn listbox control in the front panel, you can see that the Selection Mode is set to 1 Item and the Data Type is set to scalar. Still, if you try to create an indicator at the output of the Value property, it will generate another listbox. If you first create the numeric indicator and then try to wire it to the Value property output, it will not run. I am using LabView version 8.5.1. | I see nothing wrong in the program. Yes, if you right click on either the listbox or the property node, you get a listbox. That is expected. The listbox just created is a scalar and if you create a plain numeric indicator, you can wire that to either the property node or the listbox. No broken wires or anything. <img src="http://forums.ni.com/attachments/ni/170/339118/1/No%20Problem%20Found.PNG"> Message Edited by Dennis Knutson on 07-09-2008 08:30 AM No Problem Found.PNG: http://forums.ni.com/attachments/ni/170/339118/1/No Problem Found.PNG |
