Front panel: Edit > "Customize Control" is grayed outnow - why?

This is a discussion on Front panel: Edit > "Customize Control" is grayed outnow - why? within the labview forums in Programming Languages category; On the front panel, I select a cluster with numerous controls in it, click on Edit or right click, and the "Customize Control" option is grayed out. Why?   I've been doing this frequently to turn cliusters of controls or indicators into strict typedefs, and have not seen this before. I tried doing it on some other controls and indicators in other vi's and their "Customize Control" options are not grayed out, as is normal. Default Front panel: Edit > "Customize Control" is grayed outnow - why?

On the front panel, I select a cluster with numerous controls in it, click on Edit or right click, and the "Customize Control" option is grayed out. Why?

The reason I want to do this is to turn the lefthand cluster of controls, "ProfileBeforeTimeCrit", into a strict typedef, as I just did to the righthand cluster of indicators. I know the looping control is unwired, but that couldn't be it.

What broke or changed? Or, what'd I fat thumb?

Thanks!!

I can customize it, but I am also missing some other controls associated with the vi.  If any of those controls are corrupted and are included in your funky control, they might prevent it from customizing (sort of the way controls that contain typedefs are grayed out while you edit the typedef).

Jeff, I didn't think to post all the controls, only the outermost level of them, and not any that were in clusters. Of course this is wrong.
Something weird got tangled up somewhere, but I went around saving and closing things and restarting just the ones of immediate interest, and now find it isn't grayed out anymore. I don't think I understand why, and am pretty sure I had no controls per se still opened, let alone unsaved and with unapplied changes, but I bet if I could disect everything that was open your answer would explain it.
Guess closing a session and reopening what looks funny is a good thing to try before going too far with anything else!
Anyway, thanks. It's the end of a good half hour of head scratching. I have to find another itchy spot now...
