  1. Default Original Apple Dylan Reference Manual

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the 1992 edition of Apple's
Dylan Reference Manual? You know, the one that still had the language
using the proper syntax? I've tried Powells, Amazon, and Abebooks and
none have any copies of the original 1992 edition. If anyone knows
where I can get my hands on one, I would appreciate it.

It's called "Dylan, an Object-Oriented Dynamic Language"
    from 1992.

AFAIK it was not sold as a book. One could get a copy from
Apple for free - one just had to request it from them.
    Long ago.

Here are some HTML pages of it:

    http://www.muc.de/~hoelzl/old-manual.tar.gz

Probably worth to get a real web presence. It's much
much better than some 'new' Lisp attempts I have seen
    lately.

Thanks for the link, Rainer. I just started checking back into the
newsgroup after a couple years gone. You are as helpful as ever.

You are getting bonus points for such a kind response. :-)

I have found another version on my laptop:

    http://lispm.dyndns.org/documents/Di...x-dylan.tar.gz

This one comes with design notes.

Thanks to all who replied. As i walked thought the book, I noticed
some HTML errors that I patched up. As soon as I repair links to the
annotation and figure material, I'll post a version and see if
softwarepreservation.org is interested, as they don't seem to have a
    copy in their Lisp collection.

What kind of problems do you see? I have just removed
the links around the images - nothing else.

I have dropped the extracted files into an exported directory (by CL-HTTP).
    It seems to work fine:

    http://lispm.dyndns.org/documentatio...ed-manual.html

I snagged the tgz version from your other post. The chapter links in
the book contents didn't work. Other than that trivial annoyance, I
haven't found anything. I have been reading through it mostly
    sequentially though.

The text is in monospaced font instead of Roman across large sections
of some of the chapters because of missing <\tt> tags. After fixing
those, it reads much more easily. The tags appear to be missing when
directly followed by a </b> tag at the beginning of a line. Also, the
picture gifs could be included directly (rather than pointed to by a
    broken link).
