how do I open a image from a thumbnail on the same page

  2. Default Re: how do I open a image from a thumbnail on the same page

Link to it as you would link to any other file.

By the way, spend more time on learning HTML and CSS than you do on learning
DW, and you'll spend less total time getting where you want to be....

Create separate pages for each image, ie: image001.html, image002.html, etc. Link the thumbnail to the appropriate page, repeat.

    Hello,

Or just link each thumbnail to the larger image :-)

    <a href="firstlarge.jpg"><img src="images/firstthumbnail.jpeg" width="26"
    height="26"></a>

    Take care,
    Tim

Barb *was* linking to the file in her previous post, but wanted to change the
background color the browser filled in around the image file (which you can't
    do).

Linking to individual html files would let her control not only the background
color but the position of the image.

Thanks for adding that info. I wondered after I posted if there might be
more to it, and it makes perfect sense now.
Just didn't want someone brand new reading the question on this thread and
thinking they had to create a page for each image they wanted to display :-)

    Take care,
    Tim

Murray, I like your straight forward answers & I will learn html & css, for
right now I'm simply trying to get my own site on line. All I need is one more
answer (I think) and have got to figure out how to ask the right question. My
website www.claymakins.com is my first & at 60 years old maybe my only, but I
do love the challenge. Here's what I want my gallery to do: when a visitor
clicks on a thumbnail I would like the image to pop up on the same page. My
thumbnails & images are linked but the image comes up on its own page. I would
rather have it work similar to a rollover. I tried the rollover but could not
get the thumbnail to enlarge. I hope this makes more sense, Thanks...Barb
