a few years ago, i had a similar thought and searched the archives of this
board as well as a number of others (macfixit.com, for example) and i remember
being struck by the handful of people who were completely oblivious to what was
    going on around them...

"sure we're under attack and all, but why can't i make a pdf?????"

Mine was of a Director mailing list. One of the regulars posted a
link to a picture he took while walking across the bridge to his
    office.

My memory was of watching my first two kids come into the world at the same
time the country was being attacked, and wondering if I would be able to
find work to feed them. (I had been laid off the week before)

Mine was the same, hearing the news on this news group, then getting
everyone in the office to turn the tv on and see all the networks in the
uk show pictures of the first tower, and everyone being transfixed for
the following hours and seeing it all happen live. The memories haunt me
    to this day.
