Hello, I need some help please. How do I link one button to two slices? or combine two slices to make one slice, or make a true polygon shape out of the slices, it will make the polygon shape but it leaves the the red guide lines and I cant work under that slice... if you understand. Will someone please help. Thank you so much.

I don't understand "can't work under that slice." You can make true polygon slices, however. There's a little triangle at the bottom right corner of the button to select the slice tool. Click that, and it will expand, giving you the choice of the rectangular slice tool or the polygon slice tool. Yes, you'll get the red guidelines that define the extent of your slices, no matter what. Can you post your image, or a screen shot of what you're trying to do?

View > Slice Guides to toggle them OFF. And/or select the Hide Slices/Hotspots Toolbar command so you can work with your objects. h

Did you Hide Slices? Select the Pointer Tool and click your Object? It should get selected. What happens when you mouse over the 'star' object? Do you get the 'object selection' bounding area appear? Bounding area should appear red when you mouse over it? Yes/No! Also, go to your Layer Panel and make sure that your object/Layer is not 'locked'. Look for little 'padlock' icons next to the Layers. If you see it, click it, to toggle it to 'off'. h

Whenever I mouse over my stars they are red and when I select them they turn blue, none of my layers are locked. When I preview my document all the starts above the red line work, everything below doesn't. I even previewed in browser to see if it only did it in fireworks, but it does the same thing in my browser. I made the original image in photoshop, and exported to fireworks. Could that maybe be the problem? Even after I hide the slice guide lines I am still unable to make the buttons work.
