Windows Print Screen can it be set to png?

This is a discussion on Windows Print Screen can it be set to png? within the Macromedia Fireworks forums in Adobe Tools category; I think the default format is gif. Is there way to set it to png as the print screen default format?...

Default Windows Print Screen can it be set to png?

I think the default format is gif. Is there way to set it to png as the
print screen default format?

It becomes a PNG file when you copy it from the windows clipboard and
paste it onto the canvas in Fireworks.

That may be, but the person taking the images is pasting into a MS Word
document and not DW.

On Windows, you can paste a screen capture into Windows Paint, save as .png,
then insert the image into MS Word. (At least, the Vista version of Paint
supports .png and I think the XP version does as well.)

The answer is no.
Print screen stores images in the Clipboard as bitmaps.
Gif , png, etc. are file formats - nothing to do with the Clipboard
