Change Color of Workspace (not canvas)

This is a discussion on Change Color of Workspace (not canvas) within the Macromedia Fireworks forums in Adobe Tools category; Hi All Fireworks - Version 8 How do you change the general workspace color? This is not the 'canvas' color but instead the general background color of the entire working area of FW I looked in Edit > Preferences but there wasn't any setting Many thanks :-)...

Hi All

Fireworks - Version 8

How do you change the general workspace color?

This is not the 'canvas' color but instead the general background color of the
entire working area of FW

I looked in Edit > Preferences but there wasn't any setting

You can, but it's a system-wide setting, not a Fireworks-specific
setting. It'll change for every application.

It's been an interesting few months. I'm scaling back my web dev
business and forming a partnership with another woman to start an
online mentor-coaching program for small businesses. We plan to

Thank you both, shame workspace color can't be changed (without affecting system), makes it hard to work with grays, especially borders that are gray.

There is nothing to stop you dragging out a canvas the size of your screen
and colouring it with a fill of choice, when you come to save whatever it is
you're creating just hide your background canvas.
