I am trying to create a fireworks background for export to Dreamweaver, one which has a simple border (1 pt. line), an address line at the bottom, and a glow effect. Is there a tutorial, or can some one provide simple instruction? Thanks http://www.pk-co.com/sample.html

Hey Paul, I don't see a "glow" in your example link. As for the text you'd want to add that in Dreamweaver or another suitable HTML editor. The line, assuming it's a 1px solid color line, is also something you could easily do in Dreamweaver. You would never open up Fireworks for the express purpose of doing a "table design". Fireworks is a graphics program, not an HTML authoring/editing environment. If you are looking to create what would become a background image to use in a DIV or table cell, you'd create your artwork on the canvas first, then draw on an export slice. You could then set your export options properties panel and then right-click the green slice and choose "export selected slice".

Joey, thanks for your feedback...very clear, concise and much appreciated. Can I assign art to a layer in Dreamweaver, lock it, and then on a top layer create a text box?

Can I assign art to a layer in Dreamweaver, lock it, and then on a top layer create a text box?[/q] HTML doesn't have" text boxes" and the concept of layers in HTML is different from that in a graphics application. There are ways to create the kind of result I think you're going for, but you need to understand how that is done with either a table-based layout or a CSS layout. Designing for the Web is not like designing for print. So...resources! Here's a book I like: http://www.amazon.com/XHTML-Sixth-Vi...30840/ref=pd_b bs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1215305917&sr=8-1 (Visual Quickstart Guide) by Elizabeth Castro It covers everything in small chunks and is light enough to carry around and read. Some tutorials: http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com/ http://www.w3schools.com/default.asp This one has a friendly tone, although it has lots of ads: http://www.pagetutor.com/html_tutor/index.html http://www.csstutorial.net/ Also, check out the site recommendations by Silkrooster here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforu...=193&threadid= 1386654
