animated button

This is a discussion on animated button within the Macromedia Flash forums in Adobe Tools category; Here's a quick example you can refer to, it follows what cl was suggesting, though uses a different mc instance name, which can be anything you want to name it. http://www.nedwebs.com/Flash/transition.fla...

Okay, I got it to work. Before I had the right instance name given to (I think) an image within the MC, not the MC itself. Thanks for both of your help.

One more thing. Rather than simply stopping the MC on rollout, I'd like to revert to the first frame (i.e. just go to the original still image). Is there another script for this? Thanks.

If you back up about 7 of these postings, cl gave you the code for doing that.

Ned. When I published the file, with the code exactly as in the sample file
you gave me, it worked fine. For some reason, in the preview, it just froze on
the end of the MC. But this works, thanks again.

I have seen a few mysteries over the years with Flash. While there is probably
always some explanation, like invisible code, or maybe you just looked at it
the wrong way, or really needed to get it done NOW, sometimes it's easiest to
just copy and paste to a new file (if that's a reasonable option).

I figured it out. The preview window was too small for the mouse to be in it
but not over the image. I stretched it out and everything was cool. As you
can tell, I'm quite new to this business, so thanks for your patience.
