| I am new to flash and feel sure there is a setting somewhere that I am missing and hope someone can help me. I am an ad developer. When I create my ads and export my swf file, it looks fine in my computer because it opens in the flash software and the window it opens in is the exact dimensions of my stage. This ad is also fine when I upload it to my site. However, when I publish a swf to send to a client for approval, they usually will be viewing that file in IE or some other browser. I have noticed that when this happens, things that are off stage often show (problem #1) and the file maximizes to the size of their browser (problem #2). What can I do to keep this from happening? I currently have the publish settings for dimension to "match movie". Thanks in advance for the help! I love flash if I can just get it to work for me! |

| As far as I know you can't do this with just a swf. You need to put the swf into an html web page and then either send them a link to the webpage or zip up the html and swf and send that to them. |

In addition to Mr. Rothrock, a quick work around would be to add one top layer to your file. Draw a shape in size of stage, to fit precisely stage's size. CUT it out using CTRL X then zoom out the stage, draw much larger shape to cover the stage and lots of the off stage space. "Paste in place" the cut out shape using CTRL ALT V, change its color so it doesn't match the color of the large shape you just drew, then delete it. You end up with a window kind of shape which will mask all your off stage content. It won't add up to the file much, single color vectors regardless size are very small. -- Best Regards Urami -- "Never play Leap-Frog with a Unicorn." <urami> If you want to mail me - DO NOT LAUGH AT MY ADDRESS </urami> |
