Removing Exchange 2k + Active Directory from server

  1. Default Removing Exchange 2k + Active Directory from server

    Hi,

We have a server here with Active Directory (it's not the "master"
server), and Exchange 2000 running on it. We want to uninstall both of
these things, so we can take it off the network.

What do we need to do, in what order, and why?

More details upon request - not sure what you need

Sorry for the cross-post. Not familiar with these groups, not sure
    where to post.

    Hi,

If you have moved all mailboxes to another server, replicated all public and
system folders and moved first server in routing group services to another
server you can just uninstall exchange server.

After that you just run dcpromo to move the domain controller role.

Make sure that everything is pointed to other servers (like DNS, DHCP, WINS)
and that you have other global catalog severs in your domain.
