Not sure; I'm not familiar with that hotfix, but you seem to be correct in
your understanding of the prerequsites from what I can see. Not sure what
help MS/PSS will give you with a hotfix, but it might be worth a shot.
However, since you're going to be migrating soon, how critical is this?
