IE7 doesn't display WSS forms

  1. Default IE7 doesn't display WSS forms

    Hi,

We have a customised OWA application running on Exchange 2003, SP2 which
    uses custom forms.
The custom forms do not display in IE7, but worked fine on IE5 and IE6.

Our form registration uses the following values for browser and major
    version.

    urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:forms#browser = "IE"
    urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:forms#majorver = ">=5"

Setting these values to "*" fixes the problem, but we want to detect IE5+ to
    provide a premium view experience.

I am aware that there is a utility that can get IE7 to send IE6 http
headers, but that isn't really satisfactory as I believe you have to invoke
the utility each time you start IE7.

The user agent string for IE7 looks to have the same format as the previous
IE versions, so is the problem at the server, i.e. DavEx doesn't know about
    IE7? (I can't believe that!).

Does anybody have any idea what is going wrong here?

    Thanks,
    MikeC

I'm not sure if our application is exactly the same as yours but we got
around this by updating the browscap.ini on the exchange server I think
it's in C:\Program Files\Exchsvr. If you look at the file it doesn't
have support for IE7 so just treats it as a really early browser
instead. You can either copy the entry for IE6 and update it for IE7
or search the net and find a new version which has IE7 supported and
    use that.
