SMTP Entry under X.400 Queue

  1. Default SMTP Entry under X.400 Queue

Is it normal for an Exchange 2000 Back End Server to have an SMTP entry under
the X.400 Queue in System Manager.

Both my Exchange 2000 Back End Servers show under Administrative Group,
Servers, ServerA, Protocols, X.400, Queues the following:

    PendingrerouteQ
    SMTP (SERVERA--{..................
    SERVERC (Remote Delivery)

I am having a couple of problems with one stuck email and Microsoft Support
are telling me that there is something very strange having the SMTP entry
    under the X.400 Queue.

The support team want me to remove and reinstall IIS incase the SMTP stack
has become corrupted, however they have never seen this issue before and they
are leaning towards getting Exchange removed from the server and reinstalled.

This is the last thing I want to do. Any professional help is much
    appreciated.

    Kevin

Not to contradict our engineers but this is normal.

I have a freshly loaded E2k server and under the X.400 queue I have
"Queues" then under that I have:
"PendingRerouteQ (messages waiting to be routed)
"SMTP <server name> (GUID of the server)

Remember, the X.400 queue is basically the MTA in E2k and E2k3. We use this
queue to route mail to legacy X.400 systems like Exchange 5.5 and other
    X.400 version of mail servers.

    Regards....

    Note:
On the SMTP portion of the queue I also have (Remote Delivery).

    Forgot to add that!
