Single mail domain receiving mail for 2 windows domains

  1. Default Single mail domain receiving mail for 2 windows domains

My company (A) has recently taken over another company (B) we are to
have a new email address for the whole group (@ab.com). I would like
to know if it is possible to have mail delivered to both companys,
each operate seperate network domains but with trust between them.

Currently the mx record for ab.com points to A's exchange and I set a
connector with B's exchange ip address as the smart host for mail with
    ab.com.

Mail delivered to a user on A's exchange has no problem, Mail
delivered to a user on B's exchange returns the error.

There was a SMTP communication problem with the
recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator.
    <mail.a.com #5.5.0 smtp;554 SPAM-Relay detected>

Any advice on what I may be doing wrong, or if I've gone about this
the wrong way would be apprecieted. Both domains are using excange
2000 and I wish this to be in place for a couple of months before we
    do a windows domain merge

    regards

    Christian

Here's an article on how to share domain names:

    Exchange
