We have an Exchange 2000 \ Windows 2000 SP4 setup currently (although
we have a new Exchange 2003 cluster built, which we will start
migrating users too in a week or so). This morning one of my users sent
me an NDR report, when a user on my domain was sent a meeting
invitation to another user on my domain.

    What happened was this:

User A on our domain sent a meeting invitationto User B. As UserB had
UserC listed as a delegate within Outlook, UserC was also sent the
message automatically. Much to UserA's amazement he got the following
error message within an NDR email:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

    Susan Calvin on 04/07/2006 09:46
The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this
message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the
recipient directly to find out the correct address.
    <ourdomainexc05.ourdomain.org. #5.1.1>

Does anyone have any idea why this would happen?

    Thanks.

Much to our amazement, there's no "UserC" in the NDR (or UserB,
    either).

Because "Susan Calvin" doesn't exist in the GAL? Because "Susan
Calvin" is a delegate of UserB (or UserC)? Becasue one of those people
has a rule that redirects messages to "Susan Calvin"?

Susan is most definitely in the GAL and has been for years.Susan (User
    c) is a delegate of User B which is why the invite was sent to her too.
As this is default behaviour, I dont understand why you think this is
what might have caused the non delivery of the message.

I didn't. But "Susan" wasn't mentioned in your list of user names.
Since you took the time to come up with made-up names and yet left a
"real" name in the NDR the possibility existed that "Susan" really
doesn't exist and that there were really four, not three, addresses
    involved in this.

Now, with that out of the way, I'd find the message in the message
tracking log and see what the real recipient address was. If
everything looks right, call MS PSS because you may have a problem
    with the AD.
