Public Folder permissions
I have a server that users need to have permissions set to author mode in
order to do anything to any folder, even ones created. Apparently before
my time this happened to this server before, and solution was to export
all of the data out of the public folders and reimport it back into a new
public folder information store. This would require manually documenting
the permissions as they are now, exporting with a Microsoft provided
utility, then importing everything back into a fresh pub info store. Once
completed, we would need to reapply permissions manually to each folder.
Has anyone ever had to do this? I am not sure you can delete the public
store and recreate it so mapi clients see it.

Re: Public Folder permissions
Exchange 2000 or 2003?
What type of client in use, OL or OWA?
What error is seen from the client, any?
Any ACL-related errors in the application log, like 9548, 9552, 9551?
Other servers work fine- any obvious differences? If you replicate one of
these folders to another server can you access it from the other server?
Is this a MAPI Public folder store or Non-MAPI?

Re: Public Folder permissions
This is exchange 2000 outlook 2000, single exchange server one domain. I do
not notice any acl errors in log, but then again I am not on site full
time basis. I believe this is happening on MAPI
