5.5 to 2003 migration

This is a discussion on 5.5 to 2003 migration within the Microsoft Exchange forums in Microsoft Tools category; From what I read, the migration creates the ad accounts then matches the mailboxes up. What if all of the accounts already exist in AD? We are already running 2000 domain, we just need to upgrade exchange...am i going to have duplicate user accounts? will the cleanup wizard fix this? Thanks in advance...

No, you won't have duplicate accounts. I assume you have 5.5 and your
'Primary NT Account' fields for each Exchange 5.5 mailbox are set to an AD
account? If so, when you install and configure the ADC, it will find the
accounts in AD and match them.
