Hi,
I'm planning a migration of our exchange environment.
The present situation is;
two W2000 Domains NOT in the same forest but with a two-way trust.
two EX5.5 servers both members in their Domain each hosting their own site.
All clients in both domains are using Outlook 2000.
The required situation is;
2 W2000 Domains unmodified
1 Exchange 2003 (SP1) server running on W2003(Sp1)
All clients running Outlook 2003.
Now we are concerned about the site consolidation from B to A.
When we consolidate the sites we do expect that clients not located within
the domain where EX2003 is integrated will not be able to connect to their
mailboxes, as the authentication still remains in their own domain.
As per the documentation "Planning an exchange server 2003 messaging system
Chapter4 Site consolidating" the registry of the client-pc should be modified
so the query is against another global catalog server.
Now I do expect that this is the case when both domains are within the same
forest. This is however NOT the situation I face.
What can I do to assure mail services for clients in both domains?
kind regards,
Harry
