My banks name is Security Bank. Pretty generic. After clicking on 5
Security Banks in the Financial Institutions list (because there's no
location information displayed), none of them were mine.

Every FI has a unique FedRes routing number - why not let users enter that
and have the software find the FI in the database if it's available?
