Password ProblemThis is a discussion on Password Problem within the Microsoft Money forums in Microsoft Tools category; I am using Money 2008 Home & Business and used it earlier today with no problem and closed the application properly. Then I tried to open the same file later in the day and was told my password was incorrect. I did not change my password and I have been using the same password for 10 years. Another strange thing is the screen where I am entering my password does not have the normal check box to sign into Money directly without access to all online services.  Password Problem I am using Money 2008 Home & Business and used it earlier today with no problem and closed the application properly. Then I tried to open the same file later in the day and was told my password was incorrect. I did not change my password and I have been using the same password for 10 years. Another strange thing is the screen where I am entering my password does not have the normal check box to sign into Money directly without access to all online services. I would reboot the computer and try again. You might consider doing a File->Restore of your latest backup. If you do, don't take the default location. Instead Browse to your MyDocuments folder and pick a new name. That way you will not overwrite the existing file. You could also try a repair of the *.mny file that you are having a problem with. |

| Re: Password Problem Appreciate your response and I am using a backup but I am concerned as to why it happened so I can prevent it in the future. Since I am using a backup it caused me some rework. I tried rebooting but that did not do any good and doing a repair was not possible since it asked me for my password. I am particularly puzzled by the fact that the sign on screen does not have the option to skip the online services.
