compiling smlnj error

This is a discussion on compiling smlnj error within the ml forums in Programming Languages category; I'm in trouble with compiling smlnj on linux. I tried some versions but i always get a compiling error. Does anybody succeded in compiling it? Can you give any tips? thanx in advance...

Default compiling smlnj error

I'm in trouble with compiling smlnj on linux.
I tried some versions but i always get a compiling error.
Does anybody succeded in compiling it? Can you give any tips?

It would help tremendously if we could get the following information
from you:

- what brand and version of linux are you using?
- what version of gcc is installed?
- which version of SML/NJ are you trying to compile?
- what are the error messages that you observe?
