| Hi, we were working until now with Stony Brook Modula-2 V4 build 1 and were very happy with it. But now I bought a computer with a Core 2 Quad pocessor and the compiler hangs while compiling. I can use the option "restrict builds to single CPU" and then it works again, but thats not what I bought my new computer for. It would be slower than the Pentium 4 HT I had before. So I updated to build 30. Unfortunately it seems to have a serious bug because in one compiled programm I get the message: > Internal error in file xyz.mod at line 27 3>> -- Unable to resolve module init code dependency graph 3>> compiler-> Compiler exception In many of the other programs we compiled with build 30 the initialization part of some modules is not called. Mr. Black from Stony Brook also sent me build 31 some years ago. Unfortunately the zip file was damaged (I just saved the zip file on the harddisc then and didn´t open it because until now we were perfectely happy with build 1). Does anybody know if these errors still are in build 31 ? Where can I get build 31 ? Unfortunately Stony Brook is not in business anymore. regards Wolfgang Greiner Wolfgang Greiner ErgoDent Software GmbH Kornblumenweg 16 76456 Kuppenheim Tel . 07222 / 94290 Fax: 07222 / 942 942 Geschäftführer: Dipl.-Inf. I haven't got that version of the Stony Brook compiler but the Revision History indicates initialization problems were fixed in that build: http://www.modula2.org/sb/websitearchive/readme.html > Where can I get build 31 ? Unfortunately Stony Brook is not in business Have you tried TERRA Datentechnik? They still list Stony Brook products on their website, although much of the info does appear to be out of date: http://www.terraterra.ch/modula-2/ Otherwise it may be worthwhile searching for a tool that repairs zip files - if indeed such a tool exists. Good luck! -- Chris Burrows CFB Software http://www.cfbsoftware.com/modula2 |
