| Long time MUMPS user in the UK (DSM-11 version 4.1) with system still running and mostly untouched from its original installation in 1985 would like to acquire a rough copy of his hardware, so that he can be confident that his off-site backup can be restored to an off-site machine in the event of a disaster. Essential requirements are MicroPDP-11/73 with TK25 backup device (TK50 probably OK too). Picture available (for historic purposes/to jog memories/have a good laugh/to allow one to say WOW it's still running after THIS long, didn't DEC make goooooood hardware, isn't DSM-11 a reliable operating system, didn't we make good systems in those days?). Have a nice day! -------------------------------------------------- Jon Diamond, Diamond Consulting Ltd +44 (0)7885 372605 |

| In case he didnt try it already, I'd expect someone on the classic computer list to have that sort of hardware though I dont know if anyone would be selling it - though it is astonishing what is available. Of course he's already tried Ebay... I think I'd try the list first though. I think there is another list for minicomputer fans too. | At www.eli.com, I found these: 11/73 (M8190) KDJ11-B CPU $495.00 11/73 BA23, RD53, TK50, 512 Meg $1,350.00 But, if they are really interested in long-term viability, I suggest looking into the Ersatz-11 at www.dbit.com .
