[KSB] GT.M has a server (GT.CM) for the OMI (Open MUMPS Interconnect) protocol. IF MSMWS has a an OMI client, you may be able to set it up to use GT.M as a server. But I have personally never used any M implementation other than GT.M, so I can't help you with the MSM side. Regards -- Bhaskar ks dot bhaskar at fnis dot com <-- send e-mail here |

| Hello If you define "connect" in the term of a direct access of globals or even switching in another UCI - You are right. MSM-WS only can access a MSM-Server (witchever) through DDP. I never managed a connection to Cache DDP or DSM-11... Since a long time I use MSM-WS as a frontend to Cache. Using a Active-X controll I can access Cache global data, start routines and so on. Having the same programing language on server and frontend : Standard M So I am just doing my tests in accessing Oracle and MS-SQL, but I have some doubts it this is the right way. I guess probably it would be better learning visual basic to get a GUI frontend. :-, On the other side I still dream of a new compliation of MSM-Workstation with latest Visuall Basic. | Personally, I not sure there's much point these days in a VB or MSM-WS style fat-client interface these days when you can do so much via a web front end if you use some of the really amazing Javascript-based UI widgets from the likes of ExtJS and YUI, and our EWD development tool makes it extremely create these kind of web applications. For anyone in doubt check out http://ec2.mgateway.com which is a Cache-based ExtJS/EJS Charts demo, but would work equally well with a GT.M back-end. Indeed I'm just uploading the very latest version of our GT.M-based EWD Virtual Appliance which will allow you to do all the stuff you see in the EC2 demo. Watch www.mgateway.com and/or our online community (http://groups.google.co.uk/group/ent...oper-community) for more news and details.
